Sabrina Lorenz is an author, speaker, consultant and activist on the topics of inclusion, Ableism and medical communication. On her blog Fragments of Living, she provides education and writes about disablity empowerment, reaching over 23,000 people every day. With her expertise as a chronically ill and disabled person, she supports clinical research in doctor-patient communication and advises companies on making businesses and content in public media more inclusive and diverse.
Lorenz performs as a keynote speaker and slam poet on stages across Germany, filling lecture halls, political meeting rooms, and online classrooms. She is also the co-organizer of Germany’s largest community event for people with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses to date, demonstrating that inclusion belongs at the center of our society. In spring, her first book “Weil Sonnenblumen auch im Winter blühen” (Because sunflowers bloom even in winter) was self-published, creating a space for exchange, understanding and a great deal of courage for other people with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses and their relatives. In 2020, she was awarded the Herzhelden Prize of the Bundesverband Herzkranker Kinder e.V. for special commitment.
